Colonel’s Royal

The Shropshire & Montgomeryshire Railway and the K&ESR each
acquired a four-wheeled saloon from the L&SWR Royal train of
the 1840s. The S&MR example was transferred to the Longmoor
Military Railway in December 1953, but broken up some three years
later. The K&ESR saloon was sold to the Southern Railway
in 1936 for a proposed museum, but during the 1939-45 War the body
was sold for use as a summer house, and was broken up about 1965 |
